VV flow fine, right heart struggling
Handover
ARDS on VV with decent gases. CVP is rising, urine has tailed off, and yesterday’s echo showed RV strain. Sats dip when you try to drop the vent further. VV is oxygenating; it is not doing the RV’s stroke work.
Uncorrected hypoxemia, shock, or a dead circuit progresses to pre-arrest, then a code.
