Day 4 after necrotising pneumonia. A chest tube is already in and bubbling with every breath. Inspired VT 480, expired 180. PEEP will not hold. The FV loop is open.
Uncorrected hypoxemia, auto-PEEP shock, tension, or abdominal compartment progresses to pre-arrest, then a fail. Read the scalars before you turn a knob.
